Sherri Chaney, PMHNP

Sherri is a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) trained to provide a wide range of metal health services for patients and families. She received her Bachelor’s of Science with Nursing from Texas Women’s University in 2003. In 2013, Sherri received her Master’s of Nursing from West Texas A&M University.

She then received her PMHNP from West Texas A&M University in 2023.

For most of her nursing and nurse practitioner career she has worked in emergency medicine. When she was graduating from nursing school, she wanted to help people at a time when their need was the greatest, when they needed help the most or during a life crisis. Emergency medicine called to her deeply.

She loved emergency medicine, and even received a board certification in emergency/trauma medicine.

Over the last several years a different need has presented itself to her. She sees many people hurting, needing help and not getting it. She sees children and adolescents needing direction, needing coping mechanisms, needing someone to listen, and desperate for help.

The children and adolescents today have challenges and trials that previous generations have not endured. That is when she decided to change her career direction to help children and adolescents learn how to cope, and deal with the mental health challenges in today’s world.
